Good morning,

I hope that this e-mail finds you in good health and enjoying the change of season. There's a chill in the air as Spirit Week continues to lead us toward the BIG GAME!

The last month has been a complete whirlwind with football games, Fall Break and marching band contests. With so much activity I have not been able to completely communicate with you about the Band's trip to the Bahamas. Due to a variety of issues, including individual household economics, we did not receive enough student deposits in order to make our trip a reality. As I told the parents in attendance at the monthly booster club meeting, the trip to the Bahamas is officially cancelled. I can return your check to you via your student if you will send them to my office to ask for it. We do have another option.

The marching band kids give so much time and effort in representing their school and community. I like to try to reward them with a special trip at least every 2 years.

I have found an alternative trip that is significantly less expensive. The new trip will be to Orlando, Florida at the end of March. The cost for this trip will range between $460 & $550 dollars all depending on the number of travelers. This trip will include a performance with Music Festival USA, 2 days admission to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks. In addition, we will also have a dining experience at Sleuth dinner theater. This will be a dinner at which the audience gets to participate in a who dun it murder mystery. It should be a great deal of fun.

If you are interested in having your marching band student participate in this trip, please send a $100 check made payable to WRHS with your student's name in the memo line to the band room by no later than Monday November 10th. Tuesday November 11th is a holiday and it will be past the deadline. If you made a deposit on the Bahamas trip and do not have your student pick up the check from the band room we will carry over the deposit into the Orlando trip. Please send a brief note or an e-mail verifying that this is your desire.

If your Bahamas deposit is not requested as a refund by Monday November 10th we will apply that initial payment to the Orlando trip. The checks will be deposited after this date and I will no longer be able to refund the initial deposit.

I will be forwarding specific details about our trip once I receive particular confirmation from our travel company. We will e-mail this information which will contain the payment schedule as well as our itinerary. Additionally, this information will be posted to the web-site.

Thanks again for your incredible support of these amazing young people!

 Take care & God Bless,

Mr. H.
