Todd
Howell is currently serving in his 12th year as
Director of Bands at Warner Robins High School in Warner Robins,
Georgia. In addition to his role as Director of Bands, Mr.
Howell is also the Fine Arts Department chairman.
Bands during Mr. Howell’s tenure at WRHS have consistently been
rated Superior on the concert stage as well as the marching
field. Since Mr. Howell arrived at the school the band has grown
from 1 group of 80 students to 3 concert bands, a jazz band,
percussion ensemble and the Demon Marching Band. The Warner
Robins band program has represented the school and community in
various events ranging from participation in the 2000 Outback
Bowl half-time show, performances at the Lincoln Center Plaza in
New York City, and most recently the band received accolades
from the government of the Grand Bahamas Islands.
Prior to his position at Warner Robins High School, Mr. Howell
served as Director of Bands at Heard County High School in
Franklin, Georgia and as Assistant Band Director at Warner
Robins Middle School, Northside Middle School and Northside High
School in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Mr. Howell is a 1993 and 1995 graduate from Jacksonville State
University in Jacksonville, Alabama where he earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Music and a Masters of Music Education. During
his time at JSU, Mr. Howell performed with the Marching
Southerners for 4 years and served as Drum Major during the 1990
season. During the summers of 1990 & 1991 Mr. Howell was a
performing member of the now 11 time DCI World Champion Blue
Devils Drum & Bugle Corps from Concord, California.
In the summer of 2005, Mr. Howell completed his Educational
Specialist degree from Columbus State University. He is a member
of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Fraternity for Men in
Music in America, Kappa Delta Pi honor society in Education,
Music Educators National Conference, and the Georgia Music
Educators Association.
Mr. Howell is a past chairman of the GMEA Marching Band
committee. He has also served as an adjudicator for marching
band as well as solo and ensemble contests in Georgia and South
Carolina.
Todd is married to his wife Nancy who has been a loving
inspiration for the last 12 years. They have been blessed with 2
beautiful children, Emily (age 8) and Timothy (age 5). The
Howell family resides in Warner Robins, Georgia. |

Miguel Castro |

Miguel studied music from 1977 to 1981 at the Conservatorio
Nacional de Musica in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He has performed
with the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional, the Swiss Philharmonic, the Carol
Morgan Operatic Society, the Youth Philharmonic, and the Orquesta Sinfonica
de Maracaibo.
Mr. Castro continues to perform with various jazz groups and Latin American
music groups, in addition to teaching classical, jazz, ethnic, and Latin
music. In addition to being the Artistic Director of the Saoco Percussion
Ensemble, Mr. Castro is currently the Director of Percussion Studies at
Mercer University and Middle Georgia College, and Percussion Coordinator for
the Schools of Houston County, Georgia. |
